F10 on tour: we did Startup scouting in Denmark, the US, and Poland to establish valuable connections with innovative entrepreneurs from all over the world.
After scouting Startups at the Pirate Summit in Cologne, the Startup Grind and the Hack Zurich, our trainee Fabian participated in the InsurTech Hackathon in Copenhagen. This was a great opportunity to promote F10 among the Scandinavian countries, identify relevant InsurTech trends, and to meet potential startups and industry experts. While hacking at the hackathon, and even winning, Fabian was able to identify challenges that insurances are facing and realizing that Danish insurances as well as the Swiss ones have the same problems: automating their processes and creating a positive and unique customer experience.
Normally “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, but this time our Startup Coach James and F10 co-founder Andy were eager to bring back their experiences and share F10 knowledge at the InsurTech Connect Conference. The world’s largest InsurTech event with almost 4000 insurance companies, investors and startups was a good place for the two to conduct over 50 one on one startup meetings and to see a startup pitch competition. Thanks to the offered presentations, we got a better view of what executives think of innovation, how thought leaders would balance regulation and innovation, and how they would build an innovation ecosystem. All in all, the conference enabled us to scout startups and to gain insights into InsurTech trends, company and industry issues.
To meet 200 eastern European Startups, our Junior Startup Coach Sofia visited the Wolves Summit in Warsaw and came back with a bag full of new contacts, insights and ideas. Thanks to the great organisation, she had one-to-one meetings with 16 startups, that might be interested in applying to the F10 Incubation Program. Our global Startup scouting tour will be continued in Switzerland.
